Dan Burke is an Illinois licensed Professional and Structural Engineer. Mr. Burke graduated from the University of Illinois at Urbana/Champaign with a BS and MS in Civil Engineering. He worked as a structural designer at Envirodyne Engineers and has spent the last 27 years with the Chicago Department of Transportation. He has been in his current position for 3 years as the Managing Deputy Commissioner / Chief Engineer. In this role, he oversees a staff of 81 and a $600M annual program of design and construction of roadway, signal, lighting, bridge, transit, harbor, shoreline and neighborhood improvement projects for the City of Chicago.
