IL Section ASCE T&DI Virtual Luncheon

Please join us for our July virtual luncheon which will feature a presentation from Jennifer (Sis) Killen, Superintendent of the Cook County Department of Transportation and Highways.
Ms. Killen co-led the completion of the Department’s long range transportation plan, oversees the Invest in Cook grant program and the five year, $1-billion capital projects program. She is responsible for all aspects of transportation facility planning, development, design, construction and maintenance at the Department and serves as the agency lead for the South Cook Fair Transit, which focuses on transit equity through improved service and reduced fares. Ms. Killen was a key orchestrator in the transformation of the nearly 300 person Department from a roads centric environment to a culture with a focus on a broader range of transportation projects which foster economic returns
Prior to her work with the County, she spent 13 years in the private sector, with a focus on Preliminary and Design Engineering Studies.
Ms. Killen holds a Bachelor of Science degree in Civil Engineering, from University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign, is a licensed Professional Engineer and Professional Traffic Operations Engineer, and is a 2019 fellow of the University of Chicago’s Civic Leadership Academy.
