Committees, like the Technical Groups generate the society's programs and opportunities for professional development of civil engineers as well as helping the internal components of the Section run smoothly. The Committees conduct meetings and conference calls to facilitate the necessary activities.

4th Annual General Assembly Visit in Springfield

On Tuesday, April 12th the ASCE Sections and Branches in Illinois had their 4th Annual General Assembly Visit in Springfield.  The day included a luncheon with Mr. Chuck Ingersoll, Director of the Office of Planning and Programming at IDOT and Deputy Director Kevin Schoeben  followed by member visits to their elected officials and concluded with a reception at the Sangamo Club.  

This year members from the Illinois, Quad City, and Central Illinois Sections participated.  Additionally we were joined by members from Illinois Society of Professional Engineers (ISPE), American Public Works Association (APWA), American Council of Engineering Consultants (ACEC), and the Institute of Transportation Engineers (ITE).
