Annual Dinner Committee
The Annual Dinner committee will plan and coordinate a meeting of the Section to be held in October of each year. At the meeting, the Annual Diner Committee will provide for the appropriate recognition of members of our Section who have achieved the distinction of Life Membership.

Awards Committee
The Awards and Prizes Committee is responsible for establishing and maintaining a program of awards and prizes which recognize, in a fair and equitable manner, contributions of local engineers and members of the general public to the advancement of the science and profession of civil engineering.

The Minority Affairs Committee will encourage and promote interest in the practice of civil engineering among members of various minorities into university level civil engineering programs.

Membership Committee
The Membership Committee will plan, organize and stimulate programs to increase and retain membership in the Section room all disciplines of civil engineering and related professions.Communications Committee
The Communications Committee will be responsible for preparation, printing and distribution of a newsletter for the Section and the regular update of the Section web page.Nominating Committee
The Nominating Committee will consider and offer a slate of the best candidates for Section officer and Director positions, as well as National ASCE committee and officer positions that may be available.Past President's Council
The Past President's Council of the Illinois Section ASCE supports the current Section Board by providing access to the historical perspective and experience of Past Section Presidents. The Immediate Past President of the Section serves as the chair for the Past President's Council and the liaison between the Council and the Section Board. Membership on the Council is voluntary and is open to all Past Presidents of the Section who reside within its geographic limits. The Council is available to provide guidance to the Section Board on particular issues upon the request of the Section President, or may undertake special activities at the direction of the Board. There is no standing meeting schedule for the Past Presidents Council. Rather the Council Chair maintains an e-mail listing for Council members and communicates primarily by way of e-mail.
The 2012-2013 chair of the Past President's Council is William Cussen.
Planning Committee
The Planning Committee is responsible for the development and maintenance of the Manual of Operations that reflects the mission of ASCE and the objectives of the Section. The Manual will serve as the strategic plan.Student Chapter Committee
The Student Chapter Committee will develop and foster a relationship between the Section and the ASCE Student Chapters at the Illinois Institute of Technology (IIT), the University of Illinois Chicago (UIC) and Northwestern University (NU).

Student Outreach Committee
The Student Outreach Committee shall be responsible for cultivating contacts with junior high and grade schools for the purpose of creating awareness among students and teachers of the civil engineering profession.
